On the 26th of November 2003 I experienced something that no parent should ever have to and that was loosing a child. My precious little boy Gabriel was taken from us after spending almost 3 months in the Neonatal ICU of the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne Australia. The Doctors and nurses were like angels to us. They made us feel so comfortable throughout the long days and nights sitting in the ward. Without them we would never have been able to fully understand the situation we were facing and the complexities and challenges that lay ahead.
Unfortunately although they did whatever they could, Gabriel lost his battle on the morning of November 26th 2003.
The day that Gabriel died I made a promise to myself that I would do everything in my power to help the Royal Children’s Hospital by using whatever means I had at my disposal.
So I have taken the drive of my promise and my passion for cycling and put the two together to raise money for these incredible people.
I will once again be taking part in the Murray to Moyne cycle ride. On the 27th and 28th of March 2010 our team of riders and support crew will set out from Echuca in country Victoria to cycle the 520km journey to Port Fairy on the Great Ocean Road - in 24 hours!
